Shamrock Trip Report

As you know, we spoiled ourselves to an extended weekend visiting counties Mayo, Galway and Clare in Ireland. We departed from Malahide early on Saturday and arrived in County Mayo at around midday, giving us ample time to explore the breath-taking Achill Island, one of Ireland's largest islands. From there we drove along the Atlantic coast and spent our first night in Hotel Westport, where apparently most Irish politicians including the current president usually reside. The next morning, we drove through the Connemara National Park and spent the 2nd night at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Galway. We even managed to stop for a pint in one of the pubs we went to on our first dating trip 5 years ago :-). On our way back to Dublin on Monday, we stopped at the famous 213m tall Cliffs of Moher. However, the visibility was not very clear due to strong Atlantic winds. All in all, it was a relaxing weekend that we still remember fondly. Wie ihr wisst, haben wir uns vor kurzem ein langes Wochenende gegoennt und haben die Counties Mayo, Galway und Clare in Irland besucht. Die Tour ging am Samstag frueh los. Somit hatten wir genuegend Zeit, um die atemberaubende Achill Insel, die groesste Insel Irlands zu erkunden. Von dort aus sind wir entlang der Atlantikkueste zum Hotel Westport gefahren, in dem angeblich sogar die aktuelle Praesidentin normalerweise uebernachtet. Am naechsten Morgen sind wir durch den Connemara National Park weiter nach Galway gefahren. Dort haben wir im Radisson Blu Hotel uebernachtet. Am Abend haben wir sogar ein "Pint" in einem Pub getrunken, in dem wir besuchten, als wir uns vor ueber 5 Jahren kennenlernten. Auf der Heimfahrt am Montag haben wir einen kurzen Stopp bei den beruehmten 213m hohen Cliffs of Moher. Leider war die Sicht etwas durch den starken Wind und Nebel eingeschraenkt. Jedenfalls war das ein sehr schoenes Wochenende, an das wir immer noch zurueckdenken. Sebastian hat soeben ein kurzes Video auf unser YouTube Kanal hochgeladen. Na dann, viel Spass!
