Our tour schedule has been updated with the exact dates for 2009. Our next journey will lead us in Hungary's capital Budapest around Valentine's Day. Formed in 1995 in England, multi-award winning group Keane became to one of Europe's most successful modern Rock bands. Their debut album "Hopes & Fears" (2004) got massive airplay and almost everyone should know songs like "Somewhere Only We Know" or "Bedshaped". Caroline & Sebastian will head to the refurbished " The O2 " (formerly known as "The Point") in Dublin on Sunday, January 25, 2009 to see a concert as part of Keane's massive UK/Ireland tour. As you might know, we love to travel. In the right hand navigation menu you will find a table showing our "tour dates" for this year. We will have a couple of city breaks and holidays already confirmed and a few others are planned. This is just the beginning, a rough overview... Wir Ihr vielleicht wisst, wir lieben es zu verreisen. Im rechten Navigationsmenü findet Ihr unsere "Tourdaten" für dieses Jahr. Ein paar City Breaks und Urlaube sind bereits fest gebucht, andere befinden sich in Planung. Dies ist aber nur der Beginn, ein grober Überblick...

Unfortunately, after lunch in a restaurant at Champs Elys ees, Caroline got some stomach bug later in the afternoon and so we got some medicine from a pharmacy and went back to the hotel to rest. At around 8pm, Caroline felt better so we went to an Italian restaurant where we received great food and really friendly service. At 11.30pm we joined other thousands of people all heading towards the Eiffel tower. It was amazing being part of such a huge but peaceful crowd. At exactly 00:00, the tower lit up and fireworks went up from both sides of the river as the crowd cheered on and opened their bottles of champagne. Indeed, Paris is the most romantic city we've visited so far. We've already uploaded some of our pics to picasa, so the link is available under the photo & video corner . On 31st, we tried to get up as early as 8.30am in order to get the most of the day. We hopped onto a tour-bus starting at the Eiffel tower so as to cover as many sight-seeing sites as possible which included: Louvre museum, Notre Dame, Place de la Concorde, Moulin Rouge, Sacre Coeur, Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, etc. We got the impression that Paris is one huge tourist attraction as there is some monument worth seeing at every corner! Am 31.Dezember versuchten wir so früh wie möglich zufzustehen (08.30 Uhr) um das Meiste aus dem Tag zu holen. Wir haben uns für eine Bustour, die am Eifelturm startet entschieden, um die meisten Sehenswuerdigkeiten zu entdecken. Diese beinhalteten: Louvre Museum, Notre Dame, Place de la Concorde, Moulin Rouge, Sacre Coeur, Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, etc. Wir bekamen den Eindruck, dass Paris wirklich ein Touristenmagnet ist denn sehenswerte Monumente findet man an jeder Ecke.

As mentioned in our last post, we traveled to Paris, the city of love, to celebrate 2008's New Year's Eve. We departed from Dublin in the afternoon of 30th Dec and arrived 1.5hrs later at CDG airport. We had reserved a hotel room quite close to the famous Eiffel tower at the river Seine, therefore getting to the hotel took rather long from the airport (appr. 1hr via RER and metro) but manageable due to the fact that both trains run frequently (unlike in Dublin:-). After checking in and having dinner at a nearby restaurant, we spent the first evening strolling at the tower and the river's promenade with breath-taking panoramic views at night. Wie bereits in unserem letzten Artikel erwähnt, sind wir nach Paris, in die Stadt der Liebe gereist, um den Jahreswechsel dort zu verbringen. After two fantastic days in Paris celebrating new year's eve, we are now back in Dublin to start the new year 2009. A report and pictures from Paris will follow soon.
